4 Courses Required

This course provides the skills necessary to process, prepare, label, and maintain records of prescriptions in a community pharmacy to include customer service, count and pour techniques, prescription calculations, drug selection and preparation, over-the-counter drugs, inventory management and legal parameters. Students will learn to translate medical and pharmaceutical abbreviations and symbols used in processing prescriptions in a community pharmacy; utilize information technology; demonstrate the procedures and workflow operations relating to processing prescriptions and preparing medications in a community pharmacy setting.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old prior to first class day
  • Minimum education of high school diploma or GED
  • Meet minimum requirements on the Workkeys assessment. Student must score 5 or above on the math section of the assessment to receive an interview

Students accepted into the program will also need to provide:

  • Current negative drug test
  • Current clear background check
