9 Courses Required

The Lineman Program consists of 10 weeks of in person coursework and skills training.

The training is everyday (Monday - Friday) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in Kilgore, Texas. 

New classes begin  in January, April, and August: January to March, April to June, August to October.

Students who wish to enroll in the Lineman Program must meet the following admissions requirements:

  1. Create an online student profile
  2. Complete the KCEPT application (which includes the following forms that will need to be uploaded)
  • Completed DOT Physical 
  • Copy of DL or Permit, must be Class A Permit or License
  • Copy of a high school diploma, high school transcript, or GED
  • ACT WorkKeys assessment scores  (Applied Mathematics, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents)

Description

This program is designed as introductory training for students wanting a to start a career in the electric utility industry. Student will graduate with a certification in climbing, an OSHA 10-hour certification, and CPR. 

All courses require additional fees of approximately $4,300 for books, DOT physical/drug screen, equipment/tools, uniforms, classroom supplies, CPR certification.
