Course Description

Part 2-This course provides the skills necessary to process, prepare, label, and maintain records of prescriptions in a community pharmacy to include customer service, count and pour techniques, prescription calculations, drug selection and preparation, over-the-counter drugs, inventory management and legal parameters. Students will learn to translate medical and pharmaceutical abbreviations and symbols used in processing prescriptions in a community pharmacy; utilize information technology; demonstrate the procedures and work flow operations relating to processing prescriptions and preparing medications in a community pharmacy setting.
